Chrome extension — common questions
How does the Chrome extension actually work?
Open any page, hit the toolbar icon (or the keyboard shortcut), pick a row template, and the current page, selection, or attachment lands in your workspace. Reny fills the fields asynchronously and flags anything below confidence threshold for review.
What permissions does it request and why?
The extension needs the active tab, storage, and (optionally) context-menu permissions. It never reads pages you do not trigger on, never phones home, and never syncs content without an explicit save.
Is the extension open source and reproducible?
Yes. Source lives in the Anyrow monorepo under extensions/chrome, built with WXT and Solid. Every release is tagged and published to the Chrome Web Store with a matching signed checksum.
Which Chromium browsers are supported?
Chromium-based browsers: Chrome, Brave, Arc, Opera, and Vivaldi all install the same package. Edge gets its own listing in the Edge Add-ons store once signed.
